Batman 194 Cover Art Paper Airplane

image

Continuing my passion for all things paper airplane, I have this comic book superhero cover that I have created. It’s pretty tidy, with just enough graphics showing to give you all the info you need on the image itself.

This is comic book cover art, and it’s pretty amazing. Sometimes you can find some gems hidden within the pages of the most mundane comics, and other times a comic is chock full of page after page of amazing artwork. Mostly this is my little venture into appropriation art, taking from the masters and retooling it to fit my own vision of the genre.

Like many people out there I have a collection of comics sitting around gathering dust, and I hate to think that it’s going to just turn to dust someday. Instead, I’m doing this art project, and with any luck, it will click with some out there…

This image is available on PIXELS or RedBubble as a print, a throw pillow, art print, framed print, poster, cell phone case, and the list goes on. One of the greatest things about art these days is the ability to print it on so many different items. For an artist this is quite an exciting times, to know that buyers of art are willing to show their creations off in such wonderful new ways. It’s also available for licensing for those of you who may need this image for commercial purposes. Of course if you want to have a personally signed print directly from me, those are available too.

One last note: This is “Appropriation Art”, or at least it’s my version of it. This is a parody of the original artwork, which I have the utmost respect for. -YoPedro

MAD Paper Airplane 147

Sometimes, a paper airplane is just a paper airplane, and sometimes, it’s a little bit more. This is a folded paper airplane made from MAD Magazine 147. I have a lot of these magazines in my collection, but I am not a collector in the classic sense. My goal was not to own a whole lot of magazines, I just like reading them and pretty much losing myself in the humor of the time.

In fact most true collectors would be horrified if they saw the condition of my collection. But I did read these, and for the most part, they stayed in good shape. Now I make paper airplanes from them. Go figure.

As an aside, you should know that this is a parody of issue No. 147, December, 1971, The Special Inflation Issue, with a cover price of .40 cents CHEAP (CONSIDERING!), and has  a very small Alfred E. Neuman head and a giant NO! adorning the cover. –YoPedro

CRACKED Paper Airplane 109

Ah yes, the ubiquitous paper airplane folded from a magazine cover, and not just any magazine, but a CRACKED Magazine. I have a whole stack of these saved from my youth, and none of them are in collectable condition, because I actually read them over and over, as kids are apt to do. So what to do with them? Why not fold them into paper airplanes. That’s almost as good a use of my time as reading them in the first place.

As an aside, you should know that this is a parody of issue No. 109, June, 1973. The cover has the Cracked “Janitor” Sylvester P. Smythe adorning the cover. –YoPedro

As an aside, you should know that this is a parody of issue No. 145, September, 1971, The Special Inflation Issue, with a cover price of .40 cents (no laughing matter), and has an Alfred E. Neuman illustration by Norman Mingo adorning the cover. –YoPedro

MAD Paper Airplane 188 Pattern

This is a rehash of MAD Paper Airplane 188, sometimes you need a pattern to get all the product coverage you want.

A youth wasted on trashy magazines, and television, what better symbolizes such lost opportunities better than MAD Magazine? Of course this is a parody of the issue No. 188, January 1977 with a cover price of .50 cents, and has the Bionic Woman on the cover. What would life be without paper airplanes, and the paper to fold them with? –YoPedro
