Terrific Ten II Comic Book Ad Paper Airplane

image

image

A vintage comic book ad, from the pages of Marvel Comics Group, Vault Of Evil, Feb, 1973. It’s an advertisement for a Saturday morning line-up of kids television, back when such things still mattered. Sometimes these old advertisements are fun to look at just to see what life was like not that long ago. They are a reminder of a simpler time.

I’m showing you the original artwork so that you get an idea of what I start with, but I only sell the folded paper airplane version.

I digitally fold these comics into paper airplanes, and they make for some pretty cool wall art.

This is “Appropriation Art”, or at least it’s my version of it. It’s a tribute to my youth, and the time I spent reading comic books. -YoPedro

This image is available on PIXELS or RedBubble as a print, or a whole slew of products, it boggles the mind. One of the greatest things about art these days is the ability to print it on so many different items. For an artist this is quite an exciting time, to know that buyers of art are willing to share artwork in such wonderful new ways.

If you would prefer a signed print, those are available too. -YoPedro

He-Man Body Ad

No comics were harmed in the making of this paper airplane. -The Management

So many temptations on this page of ads, from a He-Man body building with Charles Atlas, to an offer for a Pet Baby Raccoon! These were the clickbait of their era, and by all accounts, they worked! It’s actually a bit of fun to read through these and see what people were selling back in the day, and for just how little they were selling it for.

The page itself is from a vintage comic book, Marvel Comics Group, Vault Of Evil, Feb, 1973. I take these old pages and turn them into paper airplanes. It just seems like the sensible thing to do. I do all the folding digitally. I don’t actually harm the comics at all.

I’m showing you the unfolded original page of ads to give you an idea of what I start with, but I only sell the folded paper airplane version.
